Aloha,

Here is a heartfelt comment from someone that recently read my book, Messages From The Dolphins.

“Realizing now, after reading your book, and feeling more deeply how the dolphins are hurt by our human actions such as sonar testing and war makes me cry and makes my heart hurt and I sort of think that I really don’t mind if we humans do become extinct so that the dolphins can live in peace if it does come to that. We can hope to come back as a dolphin I suppose… maybe we humans can find another planet to go to some day and let the earth recover for awhile. It does give me some hope for us humans that the dolphins are trying to help us and that they are still loving us and setting a good example for us to follow.”

Lots of love and aloha to you and mahalo for sharing!

Best, Julie

During the last few weeks I have sent the following letter and my book to the Prime Ministers of the following countries that hunt and kill whales and dolphins – Japan, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, and St. Lucia. Please write your own letter expressing your feeling about illegal whaling. Go to www.seashepherd.org for their contact information and also email this post on to your friends and other dolphin/whale lovers.

Dear Prime Ministers,

I have been interacting with dolphins and whales since 1989 and have come to the understanding that they are highly intelligent sentient beings that have much more to share with humans than their blubber on a dinner table.

I am writing to you with the hope that you will be open to receiving and reading my book, Messages From The Dolphins. I write on 5 subjects – true nature, communication, raising children, the environment, and war. It includes my own insights and that of the dolphins.

I would like to invite you to come on one of my Hawaii trips where I take people to swim, observe, and interact with the wild spinner dolphins. You will be able to see for yourself what the true world of the dolphins is like and then make a determination as to whether or not you want your people to have a peaceful relationship with dolphins and whales or to continue killing them.

For more information about my trips and the world of the dolphins please go to my web/blog site www.dolphinsmile.org. I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Respectfully,

Scott Olson

Australian scientists studying Humpback whales say they have begun to decode the whale’s mysterious communication system, identifying male pick-up lines and motherly calls to their calves. Over a three year period they identified 34 different types of social vocalizations. Their extensive repertoire includes Wops, thwops, grumbles and squeaks. Wops were heard when mothers were together with their young and grumbles were the males mating call. Hi frequency cries and screams were associated with disagreements when males jostled to escort females during migration. This makes common sense to me.

One of the best things about going to Hawaii during the winter months is seeing the humpback whales and listening to them vocalize and sing.

Did you know that you can now get a degree in interspecies communication? Well it’s about time that we humans acknowledged that this is something worth doing. And there is a lot of research coming out showing that various species have sophisticated ways of communicating. This makes sense because I don’t think a species would survive long if they were not capable of communicating well with one another.

I believe most people feel that they experience some form of communication with another species, particularly their household pets. It is usually non-verbal which is fine with me as I do not want another species talking human talk to me as that would take all the mystery and wonder out of life’s various manifestations of myriad species. Most likely it is an intuitive heartfelt connection that allows for communication between us and other species. At least that is what I have experienced.

Most of my life I have been sensitive to the harm that humans cause one another and our environment through wars and destructive business practices. I have always lived in a way that respected the lives of my fellow man and all the species on our beautiful planet as we are really one interconnected family. Because most humans are so self absorbed and narcissistic we do not take into consideration how the earth’s environment and species suffer when we do act harmfully. And often when one environmentally caring human tries to tell another human that they are causing harm they won’t listen, don’t care, and keep living in harmful ways. So, I kept asking myself how are we humans going to change our lifestyle to supporting the health of our planet, each other and all species when we have so many ego barriers to hearing a message from another human.

And then in 1989 the dolphins swam into my consciousness and began telling me that they had a message to communicate to humans and that maybe humans would, through empathy and personal dolphin experiences, hear the messages from the dolphins since they were not listening to each other. And that is what happened- people began to hear the dolphin messages of love, peace and joy. Why? Because they felt unconditionally loved, appreciated, and a sense of belonging to a human/ dolphin family pod. People woke up to the fact that dolphins are an equally evolved species- highly intelligent, empathic, caring, sensitive, loving, emotional, communicative, happy, aware and deserving to be treated with loving kindness. They began to live their lives with compassion and consideration for themselves, each other and all species.

So let’s pay it forward and get the world leaders and corporate executives that are causing harm to each other, dolphins, other species and our environment to take a long swim with the dolphins and each other. Then they just might hear the messages from the dolphins and learn a new dolphin trick- that of living and sharing with others a life filled with loving kindness towards all beings.
