In September and October, 2007 over 150 striped dolphins were found washed up on the Iranian coast. Apparently they had beached themselves. There is suspicion that the U.S. Navy submarines were using their Low Frequency Active Sonar in the area, which has been proven to kill dolphins by causing brain hemorrhages. What a tragedy.
